The Sacred Act of Dana: Supporting the Metta Vipassana Way
“A disciplined mind brings happiness. A generous heart brings peace.” — The Buddha
On the path of the Metta Vipassana Way, we often speak about the 6Rs and how to Recognise, Release, and Relax. At the very base of this practice is Dana, sacred giving. In the tradition of the Buddha, the Dhamma is priceless. It is not sold and it is not bought. It is shared freely, with kindness and care.
The MettaInsight Foundation follows this same timeless tradition. The teachings of TWIM, Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation, are offered freely so that anyone, no matter their financial situation, can learn a calm, balanced, and happy way of living.
Why your Dana matters
The Buddha taught that if we truly understood the power of giving, we would never miss a chance to share.
Although the teachings are free, running retreats and sharing the Dhamma in the world needs practical support. The Metta Vipassana Way continues only because of the generosity of students and well-wishers. When you offer Dana to the MettaInsight Foundation, you are helping someone else take a step towards peace and clarity.
If people knew the value of giving the way he did, they would not eat a single meal without sharing it with others. – Buddha
Your Dana helps us in the following ways.
- It supports peaceful residential retreats by helping us maintain a calm and supportive environment where students can practice without disturbance.
- It helps us offer online retreats and digital resources so the 6Rs and TWIM teachings can reach people anywhere in the world.
- It supports teachers and volunteers who give their time and energy to guide others on the Metta Vipassana path.
By supporting the MettaInsight Foundation, you become part of this shared effort to spread TWIM and the Brahmaviharas: loving kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Your support helps keep these teachings alive and accessible.
