    • From Pathankot: You can take a taxi (4-5 hours, approx. ₹3,500 – ₹5,000) or a local bus heading towards Mandi or Manali, getting off at the Bir Road turning.

  • Nearest Local Station (Narrow Gauge): Ahju Railway Station, about 3 km from Bir. You can take the scenic toy train from Pathankot to Ahju.

By Road (Bus Travel)

  • From Delhi: Overnight Volvo AC buses run daily from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate ISBT and Majnu-Ka-Tilla directly to the Bir Tibetan Colony (Chowgan). The journey takes around 11-14 hours.

  • From Local Cities: Frequent local bus services are available from Dharamsala, Palampur, and Baijnath. From Baijnath, local buses will drop you at the Chowgan crossroads, about a 1 km walk from the institute.
