About Jetvan Buddha Vihara & Hiwari Village

Jetvan Buddha Vihara & Tourist Place is situated in Hiwari Village, located roughly 12 km from the main city center of Yavatmal along the Nagpur-Tuljapur Highway. It is a highly peaceful, nature-focused spiritual location set against a lush green forest backdrop. The complex features multiple beautiful statues of Lord Buddha carved in different meditative postures (both in sandstone and metal), well-kept gardens, and a dedicated, quiet atmosphere that makes it ideal for running meditation courses.

  • The Venue: The location serves as a peaceful community and cultural landmark dedicated to Buddhist practices, meditation, and quiet reflection. Its rural setting in Hiwari Village offers an isolated environment well-suited for intensive meditation practice, free from city disruptions.

  • The City/District (Yavatmal): Yavatmal is located in the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra. Known historically for its unique geographical landscape and cultural heritage, it is primarily a quiet, commercial town surrounded by nature reserves, historical monuments, and agricultural fields. It experiences hot summers and pleasant winters, making the cooler months between October and February the most ideal time for visitors.

Getting to the Venue from Yavatmal City Center

Because the venue is just 12 km outside the main town, commuting from within Yavatmal is quick and straightforward:

By Flight

  • Local Status: Yavatmal has a small local airstrip (Chinta Bodoni), but it does not handle any regular commercial passenger flights.

  • Transit Info: If any long-distance course attendees are planning to fly into the region, they must use the Nagpur International Airport (NAG), which is approximately 140 km away. From Nagpur, they can take a direct 3-hour taxi ride or a state transport bus straight down the highway toward Yavatmal, asking to be dropped off directly at Hiwari before reaching the city center.

By Bus

  • Local Bus Option: From the Yavatmal Main MSRTC Bus Stand, you can board any local state transport bus or local passenger shuttle heading towards Wardha or Nagpur via the Nagpur-Tuljapur Highway.

  • The Route: Simply ask the conductor for a ticket to Hiwari Village. The buses pass right by the village highway connection, and the journey takes around 20 minutes.

By Car / Auto-Rickshaw / Two-Wheeler (Fastest & Easiest)

    • The Drive: From Yavatmal city center, head onto the Nagpur-Tuljapur Highway driving northeast.

    • Time & Distance: The venue is a direct 12 km drive. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes by car or bike.

    • Local Cab/Auto: You can easily hire a local app-based cab or arrange a fixed-fare local auto-rickshaw from anywhere in Yavatmal city or from the Yavatmal railway station area directly to the Jetvan gate in Hiwari. Since it’s right on the highway edge touching the forest zone, it is very easy to spot.
